3M Precise MS Skin Staplers

3M™ Precise™ MS Skin Staplers (Accident and Emergency solutions)

The Precise MS skin stapler offers numerous benefits over sutures:
   • Significantly quicker, simpler to use and safer than sutures
   • Better cosmetic effect
   • Six times faster than suturing
   • No risk of accidental stick injury
   • Less painful than sutures
   • Easy to remove

The Precise MS range comes pre-loaded with 5,15,25,35 staples and is suitable for simple, recent, open, unbruised wounds. It also suitable for use on surgical wounds.

 

Staples are particularly suitable for scalp wounds as they do not catch on surrounding hair and are more easily identifiable as the time of removal. Facial wounds, or wounds where it is not possible to maintain at least 5 mm distance from the underlying bone structure are more suitable for treatment with 3M™ Steri-Strip™ Skin Closures.

Instructions for use

Precise Multi Shot skin staplers

1. Approximate and slightly evert skin edges. Hold stapler upright (90°). Place on skin with gentle downward pressure. Increased downward pressure on the skin results in a more deeply embedded staple.
2. To form staple, press trigger firmly and completely.
3. To release device from staple, relax thumb pressure fully.
4. Back the instrument off the staple and lift the stapler away from the skin. Always check staple placement and remove improperly implanted staples.
Contraindications:
   1. When it is not possible to maintain at least 5mm distance from the stapled skin to underlying vital structures, the use of staplers for skin closure is contraindicated.
   2. Not to be used for internal tissue closure.
   3. This product is not designed, sold, or intended for use except as indicated.

Warnings:
   1. Single patient use only.
   2. Do not reprocess or resterilize, this may compromise the functional integrity of this product.
